The Downtown Reno Library, built in 1966, offers a luscious green atmosphere among the rows of books. The architect originally wanted to place the library in a park but was unable to do so, and resolved to bring the park to the library. The winding staircase leads down to levels of books, shelf after shelf. Vibrant jungle-like plants pop out of all places, but also provide cover for reading hideouts. This library offers a sanctuary of peace and escape from the surrounding urban area.
