The historic Lil’ Waldorf has been in Reno since 1922. It lies across the street from the University of Nevada, Reno and proudly displays Wolf Pack Spirit. From the UNLV rebels hanging from the ceiling to pictures old and new of UNR athletes, the Lil’ Waldorf has amazing decor. The Lil’ Waldorf also is home to the world famous Jiffy Burger and 45 draft beers!

The Truckee River Whitewater Park is located in the heart of Reno’s downtown and arts district. It features 11 pools for kayak play, as well as a kayak racing course, and it plays host to the annual Reno River Festival. 7,000 tons of smooth flat-top rocks and boulders were installed along the river banks and in-stream for easy public access, spectators, and kayaking maneuvers.

The statue of Bonaza-era miner John Mackay stands at the quad’s north end. The lovely, giant elm trees were planted in 1908. When the University was in its infancy, it was strictly forbidden for underclassmen to ever set foot on the UNR Quad. It has been listed as a “Jeffersonian academic village” on the National Register of Historic Places, as the campus core follows Thomas Jefferson’s design for the University of Virginia Lawn.

The Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum is dedicated to providing children and their families with innovative, interactive exhibits and educational programming in a nurturing, playful environment. The Cloud Climber featured in the main atrium is the perfect example of how the museum engages kids while teaching them about science. The three-stories-high structure is more than a play place, it’s a recreation of the Tahoe-Pyramid water system that kids can watch in action after making the climb to the top of the clouds.

The National Automobile Museum (The Harrah Collection) has more than 200 cars with authentic street scenes and sounds. All the cars were owned and donated by Mr. Harrah. Several of the cars were owned previously by celebrities like Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra while some were featured in movies like the 1996 version of Titanic. There are four galleries to choose from, which feature different time periods.

At John Ascuaga’s Nugget Hotel Casino in Sparks, the pool and spa beckon guests. The indoor atrium pool is a relaxing break for the winter months and for cooling off during the hot summer months. The pool Is located on the 5^th floor of the casino.
